Digica helps Broadland District Council focus on efficiency in three-year IT outsourcing deal

Broadland District Council has extended its existing IT managed services deal with Digica for a further three years to 2009.

Digica's current contract was renewed a year before its planned expiry date, demonstrating Broadland's commitment to Digica and its satisfaction with the relationship so far.

“We chose Digica because its approach to service delivery is strongly focussed on providing efficiencies, helping us to meet the Gershon targets,” said Matthew Cross, Strategic Director of Organisational Development at Broadland District Council. “Since we started working together, Digica has always delivered a solid service to Broadland, and we look forward to continued improvements in the future.”

“Through our own investment into the account and our strong partnership with the council, we have been able to pass savings back so they can realise year on year reductions in the contract value,” said Mark Howling, Chief Executive Officer at Digica. “This new deal will enable us to deliver further financial and operational efficiencies to Broadland.”

Since 2001, Digica has provided a fully-managed service supporting Broadland's desktop, network and server infrastructure via a dedicated on-site team. A centralised service desk and applications management team also form core elements of the service.

The Broadland contract follows a number of recently announced public sector contract extensions won by Digica, including a £6.7 million deal with Wokingham District Council. At a time when other local government outsourcing deals are running into difficulties, Digica is reaping the rewards of its strong performance and close partnerships with its customers.
