Digica wins $7m outsourcing contract from GeoLogistics Corp.

Nottingham based managed services provider Digica has been awarded a five year, $7m contract by GeoLogistics Corporation, one of the world's largest global third-party logistics companies.

 

GeoLogistics Corporation is a global leader in non-asset based logistics, with an extensive network of operations in over 100 countries around the world. GeoLogistics offers its customers a broad range of freight management and customised logistics solutions backed by a single, company-wide IT system. With experienced and dedicated people, GeoLogistics meets customers' specific local logistics needs on a truly global basis. GeoLogistics
combines more than 150 years of history with the latest technology and practices.

 

Under the contract, Digica will manage GeoLogistics AS/400 and NT servers from its data centres in Leeds, UK and New Jersey, USA as well as providing helpdesk and desktop support services to thousands of GeoLogistics staff around the world.

 

GeoLogistics needed the flexible commercial model provided by Digica. This allows GeoLogistics to scale its infrastructure costs in line with its business requirements. The company was also looking for the exceptional levels of IT resilience which are critical to the logistics industry, where any downtime has a major impact on a business and its customers.
