ISA Trading is one of the UK's largest distributors of consumables for HP, Epson, Canon, Lexmark, Sony and most other leading brands of printers. ISA supply an extensive range of computer consumable as well as a catalogue of stationery products.
ISA's online ordering sites provide Customers with the ability to track orders, report on key account information and place orders across ISA's direct, indirect and retail channels. Customers in the UK, Ireland, Sweden and Norway use the site 24x7.
In August, ISA Trading made major changes to their online ordering systems. These changes represent an investment of over £350,000 in eCommerce over the next three years.
The investment changes delivered the following immediate benefits:
Improved performance
ISA has invested in new IBM Xseries servers to run the web sites. These servers utilise the latest technology and provide a 400% performance gain on the systems that were replaced.
Increased resilience
The new servers are housed and supported by Digica, the outsourcing and managed services specialists. Digica's purpose built data centre provides 24-hour site security and highly resilient power, communications and environmental controls. Digica staff provide 24-hour operational support and the servers are constantly monitored.
High Availability
A second duplicate set of identical servers is located in Digica's High Availability suite. This purpose built centre offers a separate environment fibre connected to the main Data Centre.
Data storage is via IBM Storage Area Network (SAN) technology housed in both centres. Software ensures that data is continuously replicated between the two systems. In the event of any failure a switchover will be made to the High Availability suite and the services will run without loss of data.
“We chose Digica because we were impressed by its professionalism, and its expertise in midrange infrastructure management.”
