In a five-year deal worth £2.5 million, Winchester City Council has chosen Digica to provide a full ICT managed service.
The contract will manage all aspects of desktop, server, infrastructure and applications support throughout the organisation and will support around 600 staff and councillors. Digica will be focusing on the effective use of technology to improve efficiency in ICT service delivery, whilst also working with the council to develop ways in which ICT solutions can support corporate objectives and efficiency goals.
“We chose Digica because it demonstrated how it will provide a highly cost effective service with low risk for the council,” said Sheila Boden, director of finance at Winchester City Council. “As well as the day-to-day service, we can see that Digica will be able to help us set the strategic direction of our ICT services, as an enabler for our overall objectives.”
“This new win shows that Digica has the right level of expertise and experience to be successful against the large players,” said Mark Howling, Chief Executive Officer at Digica. “I'm delighted we were able to prove to the council why they should select Digica. Our ability to provide a strategic partnership was vital, as was our understanding of the benefits of a transformational approach to IT managed services.”
The Winchester contract win continues a strong performance by Digica in local government IT outsourcing, following recently-announced contract extensions at Broadland District Council, Wokingham District Council, the States of Guernsey and Welwyn Hatfield Council.
“We chose Digica because it demonstrated how it will provide a highly cost effective service with low risk for the council,”
